City Visit | Glasgow & Edinburgh
Some recent pictures from a trip to Glasgow & Edinburgh…
SEC Armadillo Auditorium (left building) and the OVO Hydro arena (right), Glasgow.
The OVO Hydro arena is clad in ETFE panels which allows the exterior to glow at night; it was the first arena in the world to achieve “A Greener Arena” certification.
Riverside Museum of Transport, Glasgow
The museum acts as a tunnel between the two open opposite ends of the building, one of which frames a view over the River Clyde and its ships docked there.
The Burrell Collection Museum, Glasgow
The museum is designed to allow visitors to engage with the exhibitions, with many of the doorways being old stone doorways from Scottish castles. The exhibition rooms feature large walls of glazing, providing views into the forest that surrounds the building.

Scottish Parliament Building, Edinburgh
Shown in the above photo are the ‘contemplation spaces’ projecting from the West facade. They are designed as informal office spaces for MPs to sit in and reflect, and are inspired by traditional Scottish architecture.
