Project Description

Higher Barrowfield Farm is a historic farming estate in Eccleston, St Helens. Set within the heart of the Green Belt, the development will feature two distinctive new homes that replace the derelict barns previously on the site. Planning approval was granted for the demolition of the existing structures and the construction of two new two-storey dwellings — one with five bedrooms and the other with four — designed to reflect the scale and mass of the original barns. The larger plot, House 1, will also include a modest two-bedroom nanny annexe positioned to the rear as a subservient building.

The design approach is contemporary, with clean, understated detailing and generous window openings that maximise natural light and capture the sweeping views across the surrounding Green Belt landscape.
